Just read this from the BBC:

Stonehenge a ‘long term cemetery’:

“The site was used as a cemetery for 500 years, from the point of its inception. Archaeologists have said the cremation burials found at the site might represent a single elite family and its descendants – perhaps a ruling dynasty.”

This is rather interesting, especially as I’ve been reading Edward Rutherfurd’s Sarum whilst on holiday. The great henge is one of the greatest mysteries of all time, as it seems that the more researchers find out about it the more mystical it becomes.

In other news, I’ll be back in the office on Saturday and can get cracking on our next journey into British history. Can’t wait!
